In 2010, when we conceived the idea of www.briefessentials.com, it quickly became obvious that effective shipping service had to be in place for successful implementation of our business plan. In the initial months I had struggled with customs and paid so much for shipping to Nigeria. I also struggled with theft and incomplete goods on arrival.

By late 2011, I was starting to get discouraged as items I ordered were getting stolen in transit and I knew something had to be done to prevent us from running out of business.

As luck would have it, precisely August 2011, I came across Value Handlers (then Geokas Global) and got introduced to Mr Adetayo George.  Through Value Handlers – I am now able to ship from most parts of the world without much ado.

There’s been time we’ve incurred losses. I recalled in 2014, where we lost almost all the goods in a particular shipment due to customs related issues and rain, I was surprised to see Mr George at my doorstep to apologize and compensate for the damages.

With VHI I know the waiting time and as a result could have customers pre-order certain goods and then deliver on schedule.

The fees I have to pay are competitive; sometimes my many boxes are consolidated into larger boxes to save me some extra bucks, this part is indeed great. I do not have to worry about going to pick up my packages (no matter how much the boxes are), they deliver right to my doorstep.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markel (now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) got married yesterday, May the 19th.

The Wedding took place in St George’s Chapel at 12pm, the church has so much beauty and sets a great ambience. 

It was a very much anticipated wedding just like Duke and Duchess’ (Prince William and Princess Kate) wedding. Many people worldwide watched it live and oh my, out of the 600 guests that came, some of them just looked absolutely stunning

The unique part of this royal wedding is the diversity. Meghan Markle is actually part black, this made the wedding like never before. An all black choir, never seen that and the guests were more diverse. It was a royal wedding like never before.

The cake had a very simple yet refreshing touch to it. The choir rendered beautiful and emotional songs. Everything about their wedding was different, especially the diversity and having the wedding on a Saturday, which was not so for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William.

Meghan Markle wore a simple white dress with very light makeup, though on social media some found her outfit and makeup distasteful and too plane. However, some saw the beauty in the simplicity and thought she looked good regardless, leave a comment down below to tell us your opinion of her dress and make-up.

Her reception dress was however very classy and beautiful. She and Harry drove off in a Blue Cadillac that was customized into an electric car. Money really is a good thing.

Somkele Iyamah-Idhalama: From her feature in the Virgin Nigeria commercial many years ago to now, she has made a very huge progress. She was seen as extras in movies or featured in movies that were not very big, but from 2016 to now, she has been appearing in award-winning movies and is the beautiful Lady you see on TV in the DSTV commercial. Somkele is also a model by profession. She really has evolved especially last year to this year.

Zainab Balogun: Zainab has featured in many movies including international ones but made her big breakout in the Blockbuster Wedding Party 1. She displayed great talent in the movie, not only that, she was a lead actress in the Romantic movie “Royal Hibiscus Hotel”. She has indeed made her big break in Nollywood.

Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock has evolved so much in the Hollywood industry. From being a wrestler in the nineties to rocking the 2010’s with his different appearances with distinguishable characters, he is seen to be one of the most successful actors.
To make his characters distinguishable it takes intense practice. You don’t watch a movie and think he is acting the same way. He is different in every one of them.

One thing that could be noted in him was determination. There are some actors that cannot act all genre of movies but he does. The rate at which he got ranked as the top was shocking and his diligence is highly spoken about.
A lot could be learnt from him and also implement into our careers.

He is skilled in Action, Comedy, drama and voice over for animations especially in Moana (if you haven’t seen it, whatcha waiting for, it’s worth the watch).

He is also an inspiration to many by sharing his fitness secrets and journey through Instagram plus he has a weight loss fitness show. Isn’t that amazing?

Dwayne is also a family man, his social media shows that and he recently had his third daughter. How nice!!!
